Master Hilarion: Forerunner and preperatory Annunciating
Manu of the Sixth Sub Race. JC.
It is believed by some students of eastern teachers
that there are sixth race people living now upon the earth. The Master Hilarion has stated that the progenitors of the sixth
race are being born at the present time. He was referring to the progenitors of the sixth sub-race of the fifth root race,
not to the sixth root race. TT2 43.
A Christly Office held by one of the high Masters,
the one next to the Avatar. It is the office held by the Regent of the Red Ray, Who is a Dhyan Chohan, a Kumara known in this
age as Hilarion. He is, in short, the Manu of the Sixth Race. TT2.
Manu and Forerunner of the Avatar, the Master Hilarion
prepares the way for the coming race, on all of the vital racial lines through his group. To quote him: "The Temple has an
important mission in this respect–namely, to give the right inner impulse to new racial conditions. Through The Temple
we plan to give a true form to science, religion, politics, and the social sciences, that in the end inner truths may be outwardly
applied and become living factors in the Temple of Humanity as a whole, which will raise humanity an octave nearer to the
unified consciousness of the Great Lodge." (Message to 1926 Temple Convention.) Temple Teachings. FLD.
The Bodhisattva and the Manu change more frequently
and pass on to other work owing to the fact that They each embody one type of triple force. TCF 871.
The World Teacher - takes office cyclically. His cycles
do not coincide with those of the Manu as the Manu holds office for the entire root-race. TCF 214.
Vaivasvata Manu, is the Manu of the fifth root-race.

Vaivasvata Manu has his dwelling place in the Himalayan
mountains, and has gathered around him at Shigatse some of those immediately connected with Aryan affairs in India, Europe
and America, and those who will later be concerned with the coming sixth root-race. IHS 42.
The line of the Regent of the Red Ray comes into the
West through Egypt and Palestine, and runs through certain centers in Europe into America, where he appeared as Hiawatha about
600 years ago for a definite preparatory work for the coming western races. TT2.
And now regarding your question about the Sixth Race.
Yes, in many Theosophical books, even in The Secret Doctrine, we find the indication that the Sixth Race is gathering in America.
But precisely in The Secret Doctrine I encountered a contradiction. In one place it is mentioned that it is in America that
the sixth sub-race of the Fifth Race is commencing to be formed, while in another part it is given as the Sixth Race. Certainly,
there is a vast difference between the concept of a sub-race and that of a root race. One should also take into consideration
the possibility of a misprint.
At the birth of America the majority of migrants belonged
to the sixth and even the seventh sub-race of the Fifth Race. It is rather remarkable that no one pays any attention
to the strange fact that almost nowhere in Theosophical literature is our country mentioned, as if a sixth part of the
world had no place in the cosmic plan and in evolution. Almost no one asks, "Why is this and what is the reason for
it?" I will answer, That which is secret is carefully guarded, and if it were announced prematurely that his country has a
great future, it would be torn to pieces. LHR2.
The Temple was founded, in Syracuse, N. Y., in November
1898, two years inside the century so that there was no break in the line of the work being carried on. It was founded by
the third-in point of time-of the Mahatmas of the Theosophical Movement, the Master Hilarion, as an inner order organization,
the Order of the 36 being its foundation stone. The Order of the 36 is, and has been throughout the ages, the Order of the
Sun-Son, or the Avatar on this plane. Nothing at all was known in the West of the coming of the Avatar, when The Temple was
founded. The announcement of this "event of great cosmic significance" was made by the One whose office and right it was to
make such announcement as "the first scientific statement," concerning the early return of the Master Jesus. The Temple and
the order of the 36 were founded by the Master Hilarion because of his office of Forerunner or Annunciator. He is the Preparer
of the Way for the Avatar-the Christ. This work is designated in the New Testament as that of John the Baptist. It is commonly
thought that John the Baptist was only a man like any other, excepting that he had a distinguished mission. But that which
was personalized in the man John is a cosmic principle...
[There are therefore two kinds of baptism: That of
John the Baptist, which is the baptism by water. The baptism of Jesus Christ, which is that of the Holy Ghost and of fire.
In these two symbols much of the story of human development is summed up, and the joint work of John the Baptist and of Jesus
produced a synthesis which is indicative of the immediate objective of our racial endeavor. The symbolism is exact, according
to the ancient mystery teaching. A close study of this symbolic rendering of a basic truth would greatly profit the
seeker in all countries, and an understanding of the significance of the symbols employed would throw much light upon reality.
John the Baptist therefore gave the baptism of water
which testified to the purification of the emotional nature, which must always be a preliminary step to the purification by
fire. The Jordan baptism is symbolic of the purification of the conscience in man, just as Christ and His baptism symbolized
for us the divine in man and the purification which follows the activity of that divine spirit in the lower nature. BC. AAB.
It was to this that John the Baptist referred when
he said "He shall increase but I must decrease." When he spoke these words, he spoke as a disciple, prior to the second initiation
of the threshold. GWP. AAB.
St. John the Baptist, who is called the "precursor,"
that "the prophecy might be fulfilled," the great prophet and martyr. In the very first remark made by Jesus about John
the Baptist, we find him stating that he is "Elias, which was for to come." "There was a man sent from God, whose name was
John," says the fourth Gospel, thus placing the Baptist on an equality with Jesus. John the Baptist the "Precursor" and "the
Prophet of the Most High." ISIS. HPB.
And when We proceed to the next sphere, Our Deputy
may also precede Us as Our forerunner, just as did John the Baptist. Thus, on the far-off worlds, just as on Earth, Our messengers,
forerunners, and Deputies exist. One can sense an entire network of relationships, and Our earthly co-workers should know
that their Brothers work too in the far-off worlds. SMDI. HR.
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of
women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater
than he. "12": And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent
take it by force. And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should
come? or look we for another? New Test.]
...a Christly Office held by one of the high Masters,

whom much has been written from other sources. The line of the Regent of the Red Ray comes into the West through Egypt and

a definite preparatory work for the coming western races. The Master Hilarion is the purifier and preparer of the body for
the incarnating Christ, and is the Regent of the ruling planet in the sign Aries, which is the sign of the beginning of life
and rules the life stream. The body is, in a general way, the body of any individual who can respond to the impulse for purification
and clarification preparatory to the conscious indwelling of the life of the Christ; specifically, the body is the group of
disciples which he brings together at a chosen place and prepares to function the regenerative and recreative forces of the
Avatar in the ensouling of a New Humanity.
And here let us pause to note that, just as Jesus expresses
the relationship between himself and the Earth Regent in the words "I and my Father are one," and "No man cometh unto the
Father but by me," even so does not anyone pass through purification unto the Savior excepting he pass through the channels
and the office of the Red Ray, whether he knows it or not. The Great Ones work silently in the secret places of the heart.
No one achieves his salvation by taking it out of the general air, however much he may think so, for every law in the cosmos
is administered by, and every thread, every atom of force is the expression of, some living Entity. Manu and Forerunner of
the Avatar, the Master Hilarion prepares the way for the coming race, on all of the vital racial lines through his group.
To quote him: "The Temple has an important mission in this respect-namely, to give the right inner impulse to new racial conditions.
Through The Temple we plan to give a true form to science, religion, politics, and the social sciences, that in the end inner

Another key book of discipleship is "Light on the Path,"
which was given by the Master Hilarion through Mabel Collins before the founding of The Temple. These books laid down the
foundation for the redemptive work of the New Age and constitute the grand twofold book of teachings for the new Humanity-
as above stated, the first part given through H.P.B., the second through The Temple of the People. Temple Teachings II. FLD.
Therefore the regent of the Red Star, known as Hilarion,
and Venus, the ruler of the Blue Star, brought this Earth into existence and are protecting it. Temple Teachings II. FLD.
This organization was called into being in 1898 at
the behest and under the direction of the Master Hilarion, one of the Masters of the Great White Lodge working
to lift humanity to higher levels by a direct outpouring of force and teachings,
fulfilling the need of the time as rapidly as humanity was able to receive
and assimilate such teachings and higher vibrations. Temple Teachings I. FLD.
It is interesting to note that as the Master R. takes
hold, on the inner planes, of affairs in Europe, his name as Francis Bacon is coming before the public eye in the Bacon-Shakespeare
controversy. He is rather a small, spare man, with pointed black beard, and smooth black hair, and does not take as many pupils
as do the Masters previously mentioned. He is at present handling the majority of the third ray pupils in the occident in
conjunction with the Master Hilarion. IHS AAB.
On the fifth Ray of Concrete Knowledge or Science,
we find the Master Hilarion, who, in an earlier incarnation was Paul of Tarsus...
[ We come now to our second point, that initiation
veils a secret and that the revelation of that secret is imminent. Just what this secret is, I may not reveal, but it is concerned
with a peculiar type of energy which can be induced at a moment of supreme tension. The only possible hint I can give you
in connection with this mysterious matter is that it is closely related to the "Blinding Light" which Saul of Tarsus saw on
the road to Damascus and the "blinding light" which accompanied the discharge of energy from the atomic bomb. DINA II. AAB.
Another rending of the veil, and one of relatively
minor importance, took place when Saul of Tarsus saw the glory of the Lord and was changed into Paul the Apostle. RI.AAB.
He realized the nature of the Law, as his later epistles
demonstrate; he was brought to the feet of the Initiator through the effect of love, and thus he availed himself of the two
earlier rents in the veil. RI. AAB.]
...He is occupying a Cretan body, but spends a large
part of his time in Egypt. He it was who gave out to the world that occult treatise "Light on the Path," and his work is particularly
interesting to the general public at this crisis, for he works with those who are developing the intuition, and controls and
transmutes the great movements that tend to strip the veil from the unseen. His is the energy which, through his disciples,
is stimulating the Psychical Research groups everywhere, and he it was who initiated, through various pupils of his, the Spiritualistic
movement. He has under observation all those who are psychics of the higher order, and assists in developing their powers
for the good of the group, and in connection with certain of the devas of the astral plane he works to open up to the seekers
after truth that subjective world which lies behind the grossly material. IHS AAB.
The pressure of work on the Masters Morya and K.H.
is such that some of us are lifting what we can off their shoulders. In the same way the Master Hilarion is lifting a good
deal of the work of training sixth ray disciples off the shoulders of the Master Jesus. DINA I. AAB.
The Master Morya, the Master K.H. and the Master Jesus
are the three working at this time in closest cooperation with the Christ. With them work the Master Hilarion, He Whom you
call the Master D.K., and another Master Who is specially linked with the work of preparation in the sacred land of India.
The Master Hilarion is actively occupied in the field
of America, stimulating the intuitive perception of its people. He has under observation all those who are true psychics,
and who develop their powers for the good of the community. He controls and transmutes the great active movements which endeavor
to strip the veil from the world of the unseen. He impresses the minds of those whose vision will justify His effort. And
He has much to do with various psychical research movements throughout the world. With the aid of certain groups of angels,
He works to open up the world of departed souls to the seeker, and much that has of late convinced the materialistic world
of life beyond has emanated from Him. EXT. AAB.
The Master H. or Hilarion, is a Cretan Master, is interested
in the Spiritualistic Movement and is responsible for Light on the Path. TCF. AAB.
The Master Hilarion will also come forth, and become
a focal point of buddhic energy in the vast spiritualistic movement. TCF. AAB.

The Himalayan school works with the first, fourth and
fifth subraces. The fourth root-race branch works under the Manu of that race and his brother of the Teaching Ray. Their headquarters
are in China. The Master R. - and one of the English Masters are concerning Themselves with the gradual founding of the fourth

The Ashram of the Master Hilarion, as He supervises
the discoveries (and the application of such discoveries) of the scientific movement in the world today. RI. AAB.
In the Book of Revelations which was dictated 1900
years ago by the disciple who is now known as the Master Hilarion, reference is made to the "city which stands four-square."

The Master Hilarion is a Greek and, except that He
has a slightly aquiline nose, is of the ancient Greek type. His forehead is low and broad, and resembles that of the Hermes
of Praxiteles. He too is wonderfully handsome, and looks rather younger than most of' the Adepts. Master and the Path.

At the Head of the Fifth Ray stands the Master Hilarion,
with His splendid quality of scientific accuracy. He was once Iamblichus, of the Neoplatonic school, and He gave to us, through
M. C., Light on the Path and The Idyll of the White Lotus, He being, as our President puts it, a "skilled craftsman in poetic
English prose and in melodious utterance". His influence is upon most of the great scientists of the world, and people well
advanced along His Ray are notable for their ability to make accurate observations, and be absolutely dependable where scientific
investigation is concerned. The Master' s science extends, of course, far beyond what is commonly called by that name, and
He knows and works with many of the forces which nature introduces into the life of man. Master and the Path.
